Love Life
I often find it very difficult to 'love' life, feeling trapped in my body, imprisoned by my thoughts and restrained by internal pressures.
It's very difficult learning to motivate myself and distract myself from destructive patterns and thoughts and to recognise that I am able to put myself first in order to avoid expectations and further pressures from others. Things I've recently found helpful....Reflexology enables me to take one hour out, to relax and enjoy being pampered, enhancing my wellbeing and health at the same time. I've also found that watching fun programmes on television such as Made in Chelsea, Hart of Dixie and 90210 enable me to take an hour out of my head and focus solely on other people (whether they be real or not). Watching fun films is also a great distraction, especially the silly ones, I watched Despicable Me with my sister the other day and laughed so much it really cheered me up.
A great book I've started to read is by Sophia Gill and Marjorie Wallace called 101 Distractions from Depression, Self-harm (and other Soul-destroyers); it details lots of different distraction techniques for when you need to stop those bad thoughts, get away from that negative voice.... a great one no matter what issues are going on for you.
